Northern Kentucky University’s Public Relations Student Society of America Hosts Educational Event for Girl Scouts Troop
What: Northern Kentucky University’s (NKU) Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is hosting a Girl Scouts Troop promoting higher education in the field of communication, specifically public relations. The Girl Scouts Troop will partake in a brief seminar on public relations and also create promotional and informational materials for their annual cookie sale and High-Tech Hide and Seek, a program that allows Girl Scouts to earn a new badge in the education and understanding of GPS Technology. Participation in this event will allow the troop to earn their PR scout badge.
Where: Northern Kentucky University, Landrum 103 at Northern Kentucky
When: 10:00 a.m. – noon on Saturday, February 24, 2007
Who: NKU PRSSA and Girl Scouts Troops # 177, 523 and 623.
Why: The NKU PRSSA is a strong advocate of community involvement and education. Beginning a coalition with the Girl Scouts will increase the understanding of public relations and the important role it plays in any type of organization.
Founded in 2004, the Northern Kentucky University Public Relations Student Society of America
has over 20 members to date. The NKU PRSSA operates under the national PRSSA mission
statement, “to serve our members by enhancing their knowledge of public relations and
providing access to professional development opportunities and to serve the public relations
profession by helping to develop highly qualified, well-prepared professionals.” For more
